THE POSITION

As Security Coordinator, you’ll be the welcoming face of the Security Services team, based at the main entrance of the hospital. This pivotal role combines front of house service with behind the scenes coordination, ensuring the safety, security and smooth operation of the hospital environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Issuing and managing hospital access cards for staff, contractor and visitors.
  • Coordinating visitor and contractor access requests in line with security policies.
  • Managing lost property and patient valuables.
  • Maintaining accurate incident logs, access registers and security records.
  • Supporting conflict resolution, emergency response and security investigations.
  • Managing rosters, staff compliance and training records.
  • Acting as Security Manager in their absence.

THE PERSON

  • Mandatory Certificate II in Security Operations and a valid Victorian Private Security Licence (Security Officer & Crowd Controller).
  • First Aid & CPR qualifications (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong administrative skills with experience in rostering and compliance management.
  • Experience managing and supporting a security team.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
  • A professional, well-presented approach with a commitment to patient and visitor care.
  • Healthcare security experience (desirable).
