We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Accountant to join our Perth-based Finance team through the next phase of business optimisation and efficiencies.

THE ROLE

The General Finance team play a critical role in ensuring the financial sustainability of Compass Group Australia. This team is responsible for providing technical accounting expertise to manage and enhancing the financial control framework, the annual Compass Group audit and Annual Report, plus cash flow and balance sheet management across the Australian Group.

Working with the Senior and Financial Accountant to provide high quality financial processing and reporting, to enable accurate and informed decision-making for the Finance successful performance.

Main responsibilities:

  • Repare and assist with month end such as journals and reconciliations
  • Assist in improving financial reconciliations and processes
  • Assist with the external audit process
  • Assist with preparing the statutory accounts
  • Assist with preparing the BAS and FBT returns
  • Assist the finance team with ad hoc accounting duties
  • Business partnering and liaison with internal and external business stakeholders

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Working towards CA/ CPA qualification
  • Commerce/Accounting degree qualification
  • Min 2 years professional experience preferable
  • Proactive approach, hardworking attitude and a high level of accountability
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong teamwork and an emphasis on striving for continuous improvements
  • Intermediate skills using the Microsoft Office Suite (excel)
