THE POSITION
Mobilisation Period:
- Work cohesively with the project team to assist in the development of cleaning and waste related schedules and undertake all relevant planning requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure project success.
- Attend regular meetings and workshops to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure that all stakeholders are fully informed.
- Provide support and guidance to project team members and stakeholders to ensure that they have the necessary resources and information to support the project.
Operations:
- Lead and manage a team of cleaning supervisors and staff, ensuring high performance and efficiency.
- Ensure all cleaning and waste tasks across the hospital precinct meet safety, quality, and timeliness standards.
- Prioritise and allocate urgent/reactive work in coordination with the Environmental Services Manager.
- Conduct audits and inspections to maintain cleaning standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Enforce Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) compliance and promote a strong safety and quality culture within the team.
- Provide training and refresher sessions on cleaning procedures, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
- Manage cleaning supply inventory and assist with administrative duties, including scheduling, reporting, and performance reviews.
- Facilitate daily toolbox meetings to share updates, address safety concerns, and respond to operational changes.
THE PERSON
- Experience within a commercial cleaning environment, including equipment & materials used, as well as methodologies and approaches to commercial cleaning tasks.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, including infection control policies and procedures is highly desirable.
- Capable of recommending and demonstrating cleaning methodologies in order to produce best results, through best practice.
- Proficient computer skills and any experience with QFM and iClean is highly desirable.
- Proven experience supervising operational teams with a collaborative management style.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety issues.
- Strong communicator with the ability to manage relationships at various organisational levels.
