Join our team as a Surveillance Training & Development Lead at The Star Brisbane. 

The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Surveillance Training & Development Lead is responsible for preparing specialised Surveillance training curricula and materials, and facilitating the delivery of surveillance training to ensure all relevant statutory, regulatory, and industry standards are met, and all staff are trained to a high level of competency.

A few of your responsibilities: 

  • Lead the implementation of training and initiatives that improve productivity standards, operational effectiveness and minimise operational risk in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Develop formal training requirements for all levels within Surveillance and ensure all team members are appropriately trained for their level of work.
  • Support operational management in the preparation of individual growth and development plans for team members.
  • Assist in formulating operational measures as well as develop and implement strategies to enhance protection of company assets and compliance with gaming integrity.
  • Liaise with the Learning & Organisational Development department for the development, delivery and evaluation of competency-based skills training and entry-level training programs

What we are looking for: 

  • Strong working knowledge of casino games and game protection strategies
  • Strong skills in IT systems including Microsoft 365, Casino Management System (Synkros), Game Connect, Protecht, CID
  • Functional knowledge of all monitor room and control room systems, including emergency systems
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is preferred.
  • Considerable experience in surveillance and management, preferably within the casino industry

About you: 

To succeed in this position, you’ll need previous experience in training & development, ideally within a casino setting. You will have strong communication skills and enjoy building trust and teamwork within the surveillance department.
