Job Description:

This position is responsible for the overall management of the infection prevention department, including surveillance, regulatory compliance, regulatory reporting, customer satisfaction, and leadership of staff. This position requires a qualified individual with knowledge of CDC, Joint Commission, OSHA and other regulatory agencies and is responsible in coordinating educational programs related to infection prevention and control. This role serves as a consultant for infection prevention and control issues for clinical, clinical support and non-clinical departments. Provides leadership by working with other health care professionals, clinical and non-clinical support staff to resolve issues related to infection prevention and control. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Joint Commission standards and provides leadership for the Organizational Infection Prevention Committee.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education/Experience/Licensing
BSN with active Ohio licensure or master’s in public health.
Five (5) years of experience in Infection Prevention is required.
Certification in Infection Control is required.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to communicate with department management, medical staff, and all levels of employees.
Effective skills in writing policies, plans and reports, data analysis and statistical reports.
Ability to effectively handle sensitive and confidential issues.
Knowledge or experience in the delivery of patient care needed to perform the duties of the position.
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite; Databases; Data Entry; Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Knowledgeable in the definitions, applications and data entry in the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).

Preferred Qualifications:

BSN and master’s in public health with 5 years of experience is preferred.
Experience in management/leadership position is preferred.
