Job Description:
The Ambulatory Social Worker provides assistance to the patient, medical staff and other hospital staff in dealing with the functional assessment and psychological needs of the patients.
The ages of patients served spans the spectrum of the life cycle. Care will be directed at taking information from patients, answering questions from patients, visitors, etc. recognizing that every age group has unique developmental characteristics influencing the approach that should be utilized in dealing with these patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Receipt of social work license at appropriate level.
2. Previous social work experience (as position requires), preferably in a health care setting.
3. Experienced knowledge base for implementation of treatment modalities for individual, family, and group therapy interventions; social casework process; psychosocial assessment skills, treatment planning/goal setting; familiarity of community resources and agencies.
