Job Description:
The Career Counselor in the Shah Center for Engineering Career Development is responsible for employer relations, student co-op engagement, and programing related to career events. The individual in this role is student focused and must be able to collaborate in a team environment and network with external entities.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, psychology, business, or a related area
• At least 2 years of experience in student advising, career counseling, employer relations, human resources, and/or event
planning, preferably in a higher education environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Team player
• Flexible and adaptable to change
• Problem solver
• Critical and creative thinker
• Ability to manage stressful situations, including Career Fair events
• Must be able to engage with students who may be experiencing mental health issues
