The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Advancement is a key member of the University Advancement leadership team and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting fundraising for Ferris State University and the Ferris Foundation. The AVP for Advancement ensures administrative oversight of the University’s major gifts, planned giving, corporate, and foundation fundraising efforts. Working in close collaboration with and reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement, the incumbent fosters a collaborative team culture and establishes metrics for success. Leading by example, the AVP will effectively cultivate and successfully solicit a select portfolio of prospects and donors capable of making transformational contributions to the institution. The AVP will serve as the lead principal gifts officer for the university, working to cultivate, solicit, close, and steward prospective donors with the capacity to make commitments of $500,000 and above. This pivotal role will drive gifts for general university purposes as well as those designated for specific colleges, campaign priorities, or other parts of Ferris State University, and will be essential to catalyzing lead donor support in the readiness and pre-launch phases of university campaigns. Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Minimum of ten years of experience with at least seven to ten years serving at the director level or above; a background of progressively increased responsibility in a comprehensive and sophisticated fundraising program, including supervisory experience.

Assistant Professor – Project Management (Tenure Track - 9 month) in Big Rapids, MI 49307
The College of Business at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in Project Management. Teaching will include project management undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, faculty are expected to be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to foster curricular efforts, participate in assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancement. Specifically, we expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and be willing to mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. In support of teaching, they will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. The selected candidate should be willing to serve as a program coordinator. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest.

Ferris State University seeks qualified candidates to teach part-time in the Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) program. Instruction occurs on campus, at off-campus locations, and online. Course Assignment: IDSL 840 Qualitative Research Methods and Data Analysis. Addresses foundational principles of methods of qualitative inquiry, with emphasis on ensuring ethical standards, establishing assumptions and limitations for a study, developing appropriate research questions and approach, and designing effective data collection methods. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Applications will be retained until vacancies arise, at which time qualified candidates may be contacted. This posting is for a 7 ½ week mixed delivery course – typically one face-to-face weekend (either in Michigan or Houston, Texas) followed by online instruction. The candidate(s) must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment and the duration of time performing services for Ferris State University. Dining Services is seeking hard working individuals to join a team of professionals dedicated to providing outstanding customer service. Several positions classified as part time continuing are available to assist in providing support in our retail, catering and residential food service operations, working up to 28 hours a week. Duties vary and could include greeting customers, processing meal plans, cash and credit card transactions utilizing a point of sales system, assisting with food production and service of food as needed. Individuals in this position will be exposed to all food types (ex. shellfish, peanuts, & fruit) in an environment where industrial strength cleaners are used. Work hours may vary, and you may be required to be on-call, work evenings, weekends and holidays. Required: High school diploma with GED equivalency.
