Job Summary:
|
The Coordinator I is responsible for the effective delivery of academic support services that foster and enhance first-year student learning, development, and academic success. This includes peer academic coaching, academic success workshops, and programming in the first year residence hall. The position will support unit leadership with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and scheduling graduate assistants, peer academic coaches, workshop presenters, and other student support staff. Collaborate with unit/departmental staff, faculty, administration, and other university partners regarding student learning needs and encourage meaningful conversations with students to explore issues of academic success, belonging, health, and wellbeing to facilitate connections with the appropriate campus resources. Represent unit/department at various events designed to educate the campus community about services and academic support strategies. Contribute to the assessment of the effectiveness of academic support services and programming. The position also aids in supporting and furthering University retention goals and initiatives by providing periodic outreach to specific/targeted populations of students as assigned. The position will also perform exam proctoring as assigned.

Essential Functions / Job Duties:
|
- 85% - Responsible for the effective delivery of academic coaching, academic success workshops, and the academic success online modules within Tutoring and Learning Resources as well as programming for Argos First residential learning community. Support unit leadership with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and scheduling graduate assistants, peer academic coaches, workshop presenters, and other student support staff. Collaborate with unit/departmental staff, faculty, administration, and other university partners regarding student learning needs and encourage meaningful conversations with students to explore issues of academic success, belonging, health, and wellbeing to facilitate connections with the appropriate campus resources. - (Essential)
- 5% - Represent CAS and TLR at various events designed to educate the campus community about services and academic support strategies. Contribute to the assessment of the effectiveness of the academic coaching and other academic support offerings including conducting student surveys, usage and progress reports, and impact analyses. Maintain proper program documentation and records; Assist with updating service and unit policies and procedures; - (Essential)
- 5% - Assists with supporting and furthering University retention goals and initiatives by providing calling campaign outreach to specific/targeted populations of students. May also assist with Testing Services within the Center for Academic Success by administering and proctoring tests in accordance with established procedures; maintaining valid testing certifications; - (Essential)
- 5% - Assist with managing department communication materials including website, social media, and promotional materials; Engage in activities and training, commensurate with position; Participate in committee work as assigned; Other duties as assigned by supervisor or unit leadership. - (Essential)
