Job Summary: | The Department of Biology at the University of West Florida (UWF) in Pensacola, Florida, invites applications for a full-time, nine-month Instructor position (Position # 121660), beginning August 2025. This appointment has an expected teaching load of four courses per semester (4/4), with the opportunity for additional summer teaching if desired. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment and a strong commitment to teaching and service. The successful candidate will primarily teach courses that fulfill the requirements for biomedical and general biology undergraduate and graduate degree students. These courses may include, but are not limited to, human anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, neuroscience, and related laboratory courses. The candidate will also perform service activities that contribute to the success of the Department and the mission of the University. The Department of Biology at UWF offers a dynamic academic environment with a focus on high-impact teaching and research practices. The department is dedicated to providing students with hands-on learning experiences and preparing them for careers in biomedical sciences, environmental science, and beyond. Responsibilities: Teaching four courses per semester (4/4 load), including lecture and laboratory components. Developing and delivering high-quality, engaging instructional materials that meet the needs of biomedical science and general biology majors. Mentoring students in the department. Performing service activities that contribute to the success of the Department and the mission of the University, including curriculum development and assessment. Engaging in professional development activities to stay current in the field and enhance teaching effectiveness. |
