Job Summary: | The Department of Physics at the University of West Florida (UWF) in Pensacola, Florida, invites applications for two full-time, nine-month Instructor positions (Position #129470 and 128780) starting August 2025. Applicants must have a Master’s degree or higher in Physics or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment. The department seeks applicants who have a strong commitment to teaching with enthusiasm in innovative teaching methods for labs and lectures, including high impact practices and distance learning teaching. Responsibilities include teaching four undergraduate course sections each fall and spring semester (lecture and/or lab sections), including but not limited to lower division physics lectures and labs, mentoring students in the department and performing service activities that contribute to the success of department and the mission of the university. Teach four undergraduate course sections in Physics each fall and spring semester across the curriculum. Mentor students in department. Serve on university, college, and department committees, participate in community engagement activities aligned to the department’s priorities and consistent with partnership of local school districts. |
