Job Summary: | The Department of History and Philosophy at the University of West Florida is seeking to hire a 9-month, non-tenure earning, instructor of US History beginning in August 2024. Historically informed research in all time periods, and thematic emphases is welcome. The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 teaching load, mainly sections of AMH 2020 and AMH 2010. They will also serve on university, college, and department committees and participate in community engagement activities aligned to the department’s and college’s priorities. The position is renewable. |

Minimum Qualifications: | Holds at least the master's degree in an appropriate specialization or the equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and is otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. The appointee may engage in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities, but is not eligible for tenure. |
Position Qualifications: | A strong commitment to teaching with demonstrated ability and enthusiasm in innovative methods of teaching courses is required. |
Preferred Qualifications | Preferred candidates will have an advanced degree in History or related field with teaching experience at the college or university level, good communication skills, have familiarity with distance learning teaching, and knowledge of high impact practices and evidence-based teaching. |
