Job Summary: | This candidate will serve as the lead instructor for a minimum of two field/clinical courses in the School of Education and additional methods/practicum courses as eligible (preferably reading). This position is non-tenure that oversees the state and CAEP required clinical components of the teacher certification program. The candidate will provide students with meaningful clinical experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Teaching 12 credit hours per semester. Supervising and coaching pre-service teachers as they prepare to transition into the K-5 classroom. Staying current on latest research and evidenced-based programs/practices in clinical and field experiences for K-5 education. Displaying a collaborative spirit and a desire to work with fellow faculty members, other academic programs, local community agencies, and local, state, and national educational and professional organizations and associations. Teaching online and in person clinical courses in the Elementary Education and Exceptional Student Education programs. Mentoring undergraduate teacher education students. Providing program support for the teacher certification requirements, including duties such as overseeing state clinical requirements, managing CAEP accreditation, and supporting field/clinical course development. Supporting the Elementary Education program through service to the department (e.g., attending departmental meetings and taking leadership opportunities to develop and grow clinical experiences, etc.), and working with colleagues on program, school, and college service activities. Participating in all required training activities. Responding with urgency to changing requirements, priorities, and short deadlines. Completing duties and responsibilities assigned as the position evolves. |

Position Qualifications: | Doctoral degree in Education or closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment, minimum of 3 or more years of teaching experience in a K-5 classroom. |
Preferred Qualifications | Doctoral degree in reading/literacy from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of supervision of teacher candidates in field courses and/or student teaching. Experience teaching undergraduate clinical courses. |
