Job Summary: | The Department of Art and Design at the University of West Florida is seeking a collaborative, and collegial studio artist who is actively engaged in the field. The chosen candidate will be a vital part of the Painting and Drawing areas dedicated to providing students with competency in core discipline-specific skills while developing every student’s potential as working artists. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in time honored as well as contemporary approaches to painting and drawing processes and have experience teaching beginning to advanced painting and drawing courses. Teaching assignments will be based on the individual’s areas of expertise and will include both advanced and foundation courses. The successful candidate will be lead classroom instruction, mentor students, serve on various faculty and student-oriented committees, and participate in faculty governance in the department and on campus. Candidates must have a successful history of exhibition and an agenda of continued creative activity. Preferred Qualifications | At least three years of teaching drawing/painting in Higher Ed; MFA specialization in Painting and Drawing; proven history of exhibition; knowledge and ability to teach Art History as it pertains to painting/drawing. |
