Working Title:  Study Abroad Coordinator
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of efforts to address the needs related to student and faculty mobility for faculty-led programs, reciprocal student exchange programs, and study abroad through third-party providers. This position will require the planning, development and coordination of Study Abroad programs and assists internationalization efforts through supporting this specific high-impact practice. Key components of this position will require the development of an effective strategic plan for possible risks, including emergencies, evacuation, repatriation, natural disasters, and housing and transportation; compliance, scholarship management; advising; business process analysis and development; and communication with prospective students and partner institutions.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 35% - Coordinates the Study Abroad program through advising prospective UWF students, students pending admission to UWF. Advising covers initial meetings with students, response to student inquiries, assistance with the study abroad application process, pre-departure orientations, assessment and study abroad promotion activities. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Coordinates Study Abroad program design and development specifically: budget creation, learning outcomes, course assignment and course equivalencies, risk assessment and mitigation, program marketing, and partner institution coordination and communication. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Makes decisions that can affect activities, programs, student and faculty participation, credit conversion, and departmental operations based on best practices for Study Abroad. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Assists with the admission processes related to the Intensive English Program operated by the Office of International Affairs. Coordinates with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Graduate School through the issuance of internal credential evaluations. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Coordinates the management of policies and procedures and recommends new policies and procedures by maintaining business processes via Confluence. Responsible for the maintenance and development of new exchange partnerships with institutions outside of the US. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Development and implementation of bespoke study abroad programs operated by the Office of International Affairs and in coordination with UWF Colleges and Departments. - (Essential)
  • 4% - Coordination of study abroad scholarships to include scholarship communication, application review, and scholarship notifications. Scholarship management includes coordination with the UWF Foundation, divisional accounts, governmental scholarships, and other external scholarships. - (Essential)
  • 1% - Other duties as assigned by the Office of International Affairs. - (Essential)
