Position Title (Classification Title):  Graduate Assistant
Job Summary: Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Graduate Assistant position will focus on assisting and providing outreach services to UWF students related to varying topics in the mental health realm. The specific areas of focus include but are not limited to: depression, interpersonal relationships, body image, anxiety, time management, suicide prevention, and stress management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be a graduate student at the University of West Florida and pursuing work related to the student’s graduate studies program.

Position Qualifications: Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related area
Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student in a graduate program and maintain good academic standing.
Proficient public speaking skills with motivational impact.
Highly motivated with a positive attitude.
Should have basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Publisher), as well as a working knowledge of social media platforms.
Must be willing to occasionally work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Organizational skills and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication are needed.
Should also have a desire to learn about the topic areas.
Preferred Qualifications A graduate student in an appropriate area of specialization
Experience in program development, public speaking, marketing development, and event coordination.
Candidates should be proficient in time management and be able to achieve assigned deadlines.
In addition to the job descriptions listed above, our desired candidates would fall under one of the following categories:
1. Direct knowledge of topic areas with an understanding of college student needs.
2. A marketing/graphic design/advertisement background with experience in the development of marketing material using various media outlets.
