Job Summary: | The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Alumni Relations contributes to the overall mission and functioning of the Alumni Relations Department. The GA will work with the Associate Director to manage the Alumni Association’s social media platforms, as well as assist other members of the Alumni Relations staff to support the departmental goals of increasing engagement, advocacy and giving among UWF alumni and friends. The GA will also play an instrumental role in alumni engagement opportunities at in-person events and through outreach projects. Job Responsibilities *Responsible for creating and implementing a strategic plan for all UWF Alumni social media platforms (existing platforms are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn). Duties to include scheduling posts, monitoring engagement on each platform and responding to inquiries, and researching social media trends, best practices and new strategies for engagement. The GA will compile engagement metric reports for submission to the Associate Director of Alumni Relations. *Attend and offer onsite management at alumni and select development events, virtual and in-person. Events include football tailgates, fall & spring commencement ceremonies, Homecoming activities, etc. *Responsible for writing the Class Notes section of the bi-annual Connection Magazine *Field emails and phone calls to Alumni Relations; maintain RSVP lists and answer alumni inquires *Interact frequently with different populations including alumni, donors and students. *Assist with the Student Ambassador program and student philanthropy initiatives *Assist with execution of alumni fundraising efforts *Special projects or duties as needed |

Preferred Qualifications | *Active user of social media platforms (special focus on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) *Capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently *Excellent interpersonal skills *Strong writing and grammar skills *Ability to take initiative and come up with ideas to help further the goals of the Alumni Association *Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint *Able to manipulate web based applications like Google Suite, Zoom, etc. |
