Position Title (Classification Title):  OPS Instructor of Musical Theatre Voice and Theatre, Instructor
Working Title:  Musical Theatre Instructor
Job Summary: This OPS Instructor 9-month, non-tenure track position would help teach in the BFA track in Musical Theatre and Acting. Responsibilities include teaching Musical Theatre Voice, Musical Theatre Studio, Acting, and Theatre courses. Other possibilities include directing and musical direction.

FLSA: Exempt
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
Position Qualifications: • MFA in Acting, Direction, Theatre or related discipline, or PHD in Vocal Pedagogy
• Extensive knowledge of Musical Theatre Vocal Repertoire and Styles
• Advanced training as an actor, director, or musical theatre artist
• Record of professional experience performing in and/or directing musicals/opera.
• Evidence of effective college level teaching at a nationally accredited institution or conservatory.

Preferred Qualifications • Talented teacher/artist grounded in truth and embodied acting techniques
• Training in musical techniques
• Piano Skills
• Excellence in interpersonal communication and collaboration
• Active professional creative work and industry connection.
• Ability to teach Theatre History or Musical Theatre History
• Ability to teach in another area of theatre than voice.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 35% - Lecture classes - (Essential)
  • 50% - Voice lessons labs (private voice lessons) - (Essential)
  • 15% - Voice Lesson class - (Essential)
