Job Summary: The primary role of this position is to provide individual, couples and group psychotherapy, consultation, crisis evaluation and services, supervision of interns, and outreach related to Counseling & Psychological Services. May be required to supervise pre-master's interns; may conduct assessment or research related to counseling, student development, and student needs; performs Baker Act assessments, consults with staff/interns regarding assessments.  This posting is for one position as either a Senior LMHC I, II, or III, depending on the qualifications and experience of the finalist.

Minimum Qualifications: LMHC I: Must be a licensed mental health counselor in the State of Florida. Must have a master's degree in mental health counseling, guidance, psychology, or rehabilitation counseling at a college/university. Must be licensed in the State of Florida or licensed in another state and must attain Florida license within six (6) months of hire.

LMHC II: Must be a licensed mental health counselor in the State of Florida and a minimum of three (3) years of post-licensure experience in a college or university counseling center or other relevant setting. Must have a master's degree in mental health counseling, guidance, psychology, or rehabilitation counseling at a college/university. Must be licensed in the State of Florida or licensed in another state and must attain Florida license within six (6) months of hire.

LMHC III: Must be a licensed mental health counselor in the State of Florida and a minimum of six (6) years of post-licensure experience in a college or university counseling center or other relevant setting. Must have a master's degree in mental health counseling, guidance, psychology, or rehabilitation counseling from a college/university. Must be licensed in the State of Florida or licensed in another state and must attain Florida license within six (6) months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated record of successful performance in and commitment to the practice of psychotherapy with both individuals and groups; ability and interest in providing clinical supervision and training; excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a warm, caring, respectful and non-judgmental manner; skilled collaborator to work as part of a team with students, colleagues, and other professionals/administrators. Experience working in a University Counseling Center; experience initiating and developing outreach programs for both the general student body and targeted underserved groups; demonstrated commitment and competency in working with the student population.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 10% - Provide outreach to the campus community - (Essential)
  • 5% - Serve and chair on various committees; Train and consult with university personnel. May conduct research and/or assessment related to counseling, student development, and student needs - (Essential)
  • 60% - Provide individual, couples, biofeedback and group psychotherapy and assessment for a diverse student community with a broad range of psychopathology; Vocational counseling; Crisis intervention and emergency services. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Contributes to the training program and the professional development of staff, participation in professional development including presenting at professional issues/case conferences; may be required to supervise pre-master's interns - (Essential)
  • 5% - Administration related to clinical work including documentation of services provided; may perform Baker Act assessments. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Part of the on-call rotation for after hours emergency/crisis. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. - (Essential)
