Working Title:  Production and Technical Services Specialist
Job Summary: Assist the Program Manager of Production and Technical Services with planning and executing events, with an expertise in implementing the overall creative, technical and logistical elements that help an event succeed. Working alongside the Program Manager of Production and Technical Services and the Reservations and Conference Services Office, this person will spend the majority of their time managing specific events, tracking inventory, and co-managing aspects of the event production process. The Production and Technical Services Specialist is responsible for working effectively with both client and internal teams to deliver high quality event production to both on and off campus clients.

Thorough knowledge of audio visual equipment, set-up and operations including basic skills in the fields of audio, video and lighting including but not limited to: mixing equipment, lighting tools, cameras, microphones, projectors and video recorders, and amplifiers.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 100% - Assist the Program Manager of Production and Technical Services with planning and executing events, with an expertise in implementing the overall creative, technical and logistical elements that help an event succeed. Working alongside the Program Manager of Production and Technical Services and the Reservations and Conference Services Office, this person will spend the majority of their time managing specific events, tracking inventory, and co-managing aspects of the event production process. The Production and Technical Services Specialist is responsible for working effectively with both client and internal teams to deliver high quality event production to both on and off campus clients. Specific duties and responsibilities: Co-supervise production team as assigned technical services to ensure excellent customer service provided. Assist in training of production staff members in delivery of technical services including customer service, best practices procedures and professionalism. Assist in the monitoring of inventory and storage procedures; managing equipment check-out process including but not limited to training, processing of checkout forms, processing access requests, and consulting with organizations and other customers regarding their needs. Set-up for events in various facilities as needed. Set up and operate sound, stage lighting equipment and Audio / Visual equipment. Construct or direct the construction of props needed for events. Consult with appropriate staff to plan weekly work schedules for self and production staff. Assist the Program Manager by reviewing contract technical requirements to ensure that facility and equipment meets specifications. Regularly assess lighting and other maintenance conditions in the Commons and act as appropriate to correct Assist in the research of costs and availability of equipment and supplies. Perform repairs and maintenance on appropriate equipment, as assigned. Attend regularly scheduled departmental staff meetings, as needed. This position may be required to drive state vehicles or rented vehicles in the course of departmental, divisional, or university business. Other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
