Working Title:  Entrepreneurial Nexus Project Manager
Job Summary: Works to integrate, highlight and connect the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Florida led by the Florida SBDC Network. Leads and manages development of a network of entrepreneurial focused entities. Engages with stakeholders in outreach activities to recruit additional partners to participate in the entrepreneurial nexus. Collaborates with SBDC executive leadership and strategic stakeholders to prepare budgets, presentations, financial projections, and programmatic reports for the success of the Nexus. This includes support documentation for weekly and monthly meetings with SBDC executive leadership to report on the successes of the Nexus.

This position requires potentially significant travel time to engage with stakeholders and outreach opportunities. Candidate should expect roughly 50% travel days per month. This will be a remote position based in the central Florida/Orlando area because of the significant travel time to engage with stakeholders and outreach opportunities across the state. The candidate will be required to attend weekly staff meetings via Zoom.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and eight years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/ technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Position Qualifications: Experience in developing and maintaining partnership relationships. Background in economic development and/or stakeholder relations. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in managing multifaceted, concurrent tasks within projects.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor degree in Business or related degree. Experience in budget management in QuickBooks or related programs.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 35% - Stakeholder Identification Work with Florida SBDC Network leadership to identify and outreach to potential nexus members across the state, including state and local accelerators, incubation centers, entrepreneurial programs, chambers of commerce, venture capital funds and like entities. Continue to catalog and expand the database of entrepreneurial entities, resources and opportunities. - (Essential)
  • 35% - Project Management and Creation of Nexus Create a program and platform to bring together entrepreneurial resources from across the state to connect the ecosystem, share best practices and leverage resource value. Plan, organize, coordinate and manage activities related to information sharing within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Host/coordinate webinar and in person meetings and events, engaging nexus stakeholders. Assist in development of referral process for nexus members to amplify access to and availability of resources for small businesses across the state. Develop a process for membership expansion and retention. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Outreach Engage with and connect to entrepreneurial nexus stakeholders, members and prospects, providing linkages between those entities. Create, schedule, organize and promote outreach activities and special events. Initiate and develop partnership relationships between and among stakeholders. Give presentations and demonstrations to nexus stakeholders and prospective members to promote the opportunity. Serve on community committees and groups. - (Essential)
