Job Summary: | The Building Manager oversees the use and care of building equipment, furnishings, and facilities after regular office hours and on weekends. This includes oversight of activities, schedules, event set–ups, equipment functions, and general building security. Requires working nights, weekends, and other times as assigned. On an as-needed basis, works events after regular building hours and during semester breaks. The Student Assistant – Building Manager will: 1. Manage all day-to-day operations of University Commons and Event Services facility including opening and closing the building. 2. Maintains constant awareness of building users through periodic building walks, unlocks and locks appropriate doors for scheduled activities. 3. Set up and operate audio/visual equipment, sound systems, and video projectors as needed. Ensure that all meeting rooms are opened for scheduled events, and locked promptly after. Understand and uphold all building policies. 4. Utilize Event Management System to assess and confirm daily reservations. Unlock rooms for scheduled events; restore room set-ups as appropriate and ensure rooms and building are appropriately secured each evening. 5. Affect and assist with set-up for events in University Commons and other assigned venues. 6. Serve as a quality control agent to ensure the appearance and cleanliness of the facility is properly maintained. 7. Seek out opportunities to provide customer service and/or assistance to guests in University Commons. 8. Regularly assess the facility and report any security or maintenance issues to the proper department and annotate status of problem or issue via Building Manager’s Report. 9. Respond to last minute changes in schedule. 10. Attend bi-weekly manager meetings and one-on-one supervisor meetings 11. Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions 12. Supervise event services crew and, as needed, weekend Facility Services Assistants. Support Service Desk operations and technical services as needed. 13. Make contact with customer to ensure set-up of event is accurate and complete and all equipment is in working order; regularly check in with customer to ensure event is running smoothly and customer is satisfied. 14. Manage onsite facility and customer problems, conflicts, and issues. Identify and resolve immediate operations issues in the building. |

Minimum Qualifications: | Applicants must be a student enrolled for credit. Applicants may be a student at UWF or any other college, university or high school. A student enrolled at an institution other than UWF must provide proof of attendance by submitting a registration/fee payment receipt from the school they will attend. |
