Reporting to the Floor Care Working Supervisor, the Floor Care Technician is a member of the overnight floor care team and provides scheduled service for public areas within Administrative and General Assignment buildings. Duties may include, but not limited to scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing hard surface floors, carpet maintenance and restoration, equipment maintenance, and supply inventory. Reports needed equipment and building repair and any unsafe or unusual custodial services situations. Responsible for the care and handling of custodial supplies, equipment, vehicle, and assigned keys. Occasionally assists with the preparation of regularly scheduled events. Position is designated Emergency Personnel and requires employees to report to work during emergencies, closings, and per supervisor's instructions.
Must have a conviction and driving check
Must hold a valid driver's license
Hours:
8:00 PM – 6:30 AM Monday – Thursday
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, and properly use or learn to use all chemicals and agents, including dilution and dispensing systems. Must be able to walk and stand extensively; climb stairs; safely move or handle up to 35 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach (including reaching above the head to dust), push/pull, perform repetitive motion, twist, and shovel snow. Must be able to safely and efficiently operate electrically powered and manual cleaning equipment. Must be willing and able to learn the use of heavy floor care equipment. Knowledge and experience with various cleaning methods. Experience working with the public and/or customer service experience. Must be capable of working independently without close supervision. Must have a valid driver's license. May be required to work additional hours/shifts to meet the needs of the department. This position is designated Emergency Personnel, and requires employees to report to work during emergencies, closings, and per supervisor's instructions.
Knowledge and experience with various floor types and floor care methods and procedures| Experience working with the public and/or customer service experience. Floor care experience in an institutional or commercial cleaning environment (such as hospitality (hotel/motel), commercial cleaning company, manufacturing, health care facilities, etc.). Floor care experience working in an educational environment (such as universities/college, school systems, etc.). Previous experience operating professional cleaning equipment.
Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
