Virginia Cooperative Extension Central District Office, located in Danville, VA, has an exciting opportunity for a District Office Coordinator. The successful applicant will work directly with the District Director and the 75+ faculty and staff employees that provide outstanding service to nearly 700,000 citizens in the Central District. The District Office Coordinator is a resource for policy and procedure information; supports unit office functions within the district and provides training and support to Extension unit faculty and staff relative to administration, programs, and technology; processes human resource and performance management paperwork; liaison with unit and state offices. Coordinates the District Director's schedule and travel with efficiency and timeliness; Provides analysis, reports and budget information accurately and concisely. Delivers excellent customer service, exhibiting integrity and professionalism daily in support of the mission of Virginia Cooperative Extension.
Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field, or combination of education and applicable experience. Experience in scheduling and coordinating the internal day to day operations of an office with minimal supervision; experience with basic accounting and financial record keeping of transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation. Ability to interpret and apply policies as resource for field staff throughout the district. Demonstrated experience conducting research, compiling data, presentations, reports and statements in a timely and accurate manner. Excellent organizational and time management skills; effective verbal, written, electronic communication skills, ability and willingness to work effectively with various campus and program units. Proficient use of standard office software to include Microsoft Office Suite and Quicken, with the ability to continuously evolve to proficiently comprehend, navigate, and explain new software systems or updates; excellent analytical and interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate and collaborate with faculty, senior administrators, and all staff within the organization. Must be able to work with integrity, a high degree of customer service, professionalism, confidentiality and flexibility. Experience with Commonwealth of Virginia GAAP.
Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Previous university experience, experience with Virginia Cooperative Extension, supervisory experience; knowledge of Banner, HokieMart, PageUp, and similar university systems. Familiarity with electronic travel, purchasing, personnel management, and other applied software systems.
Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
The successful candidate will be required to have a driver's license check with an acceptable and safe driving record.
