About the team
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Associate to join our high performing Insurance Litigation team in our Canberra office. Ideally, you will have at least 3 years’ post qualification experience with a keen interest in insurance litigation.
This role will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of matters across CTP, public liability, medical malpractice, health and regulatory, institutional abuse, recoveries and property damage, under the supervision and guidance of our Principal Lawyer.
You’ll join a close-knit, high-performing and dynamic team known for its collaborative approach, strong technical capability and commitment to excellence.

This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to manage your own matters and have a high level of direct client contact, allowing you to make a significant contribution to their outcome. You will be supported by Principal and Senior Lawyers who are committed to mentoring and developing you, while being part of a collegiate and collaborative team. This is the perfect environment to further develop your advocacy skills, strategic-advice work, and practice management skills.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- At least three years’ post admission experience gained working within an insurance litigation practice
- A genuine interest in insurance litigation and various different lines of insurance work
- Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
- Ability to work fast and meticulously with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A strong client service focus and the ability to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Time management skills and proven ability to prioritise multiple active matters at any one time
- A proactive, can-do approach to your work
- A collaborative mindset and genuine willingness to support others and contribute positively to the team
- Capacity to problem solve and think laterally
