A temporary part time position commencing 20 July 2026 until 2 July 2027.

This is an Australian Defence Force funded position for students and families whose lives are impacted by their relationship to an Australian Defence Force (ADF) member. The successful candidate will assist students to make links into the community, help students develop resilience, reduce anxieties and assist students achieve quality academic and social outcomes.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • A commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader community.
  • Knowledge of the Defence Force lifestyle.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to enact wellbeing principles for children.
  • Appropriate qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organise, and deliver innovative and creative programs, resources and activities relating to Defence Force students, families and the school community.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to organise their own work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and be able to work independently and within team environments.
  • Ability to recognise confidential issues as they arise and to treat them with the sensitivity required.
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills both oral and written and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people e.g. students, school principal, school staff, parents, Defence Force members and their families.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google suite of applications.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Genuine affinity for children and young adults.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude to innovation and change.

 EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS                                                                

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Certificate III in Classroom Support or equivalent

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as a child related work and therefore a working with children clearance is required prior to your commencement with us.
