A temporary full time position commencing 27 January 2026 (or by negotiation) until 17 December 2026. The successful applicant will support teachers to meet the needs of diverse learners in a mainstream setting. The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in KLA(s).
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Experience adjusting class work and assessment activities for students with disabilities.
  • Experience leading meetings with parents and carers to support student learning.
  • Have Special education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting or a commitment to gaining qualifications in Special Education.
  • Have experience in developing effective relationships with parents/carers and external agencies in order to develop personalised learning plans for students with disability. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Disability Standards for Education (DSE) 2005 and the processes integral to the annual Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).

GENERAL CAPABILITIES

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching primary or secondary education.
  • Have Special education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting or a commitment to gaining qualifications in Special Education.
  • Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment  with CEDoW.
  • The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
