St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population over 1600 students in 2026. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the college is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis has finalised its new, modern 7th Stage of building development and offers state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.

A permanent full time position commencing 27 January 2026. The successful applicant will be required to teach Legal Studies and HSIE up to Stage 6. The role of the Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students to reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in English and Religious Education curriculum.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyze data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Experience in teaching Economics or Business Studies.
  • Ability to teach Religious Education (Stages 5-6.)

GENERAL CAPABILITIES

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching Visual Arts and (where appropriate) Photography and/or RE.
  • Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
  • The applicant must be accredited to teach with NESA.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN'S CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
