A permanent part time position commencing 27 January 2026.  The successful applicant will advocate and provide quality pathways and employment education programs that develop students’ skills, knowledge, and capabilities for post-school opportunities. The successful applicant in consultation with the Leadership team, will provide links with external agencies supporting career development and education, ensuring that students and parents/carers are aware of post-school options in order to make informed decisions and be prepared for the transition to post-school life. 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe, and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community.
  • Career Specific Tertiary Qualifications that comply with the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners endorsed by CICA. Or will commit to commencement of such studies within 12 months of appointment.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build rapport and interact effectively with students, parents/carers, staff and community members. 
  • Enthusiastic about the development and implementation of career programs and initiatives. Familiarity with a variety of career paths and industries and a commitment to staying current with trends in education and the labour market. Ideally, the successful candidate will have had previous experience in career counselling.

  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).
  • A professional qualification/recognition in careers guidance or equivalent. 
  • Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
  • The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
