A temporary full time position commencing 16 June 2025 (4 weeks annual leave) until 19 June 2026. The successful applicant will be required to work 5 days per week, Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 2.30pm.

The role of General Employee Maintenance provides services to assist with the smooth operation of the School and will be responsible for general maintenance and repairs, and other duties as directed by the Principal.

Duties may include (but not be limited to):

  • General building and grounds maintenance (painting, patching, basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical (changing bulbs etc.).
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of school facilities including classrooms, offices, restrooms and common areas.
  • Liaise and coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs and installations.
  • Work closely with school staff to address maintenance issues and ensure minimal disruption to school activities.
  • Emergency cleaning when required.
  • Driving the School Ute/Buses to pick up items as required and/or to move equipment to and from school events, excursions.
  • Opening the school. Disarming/arming alarms and opening external gates.
  • Maintaining school gardens, hedging and pruning.
  • Other duties as directed by the Principal.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Well-developed inter-personal skills with students, parents and staff, and a helpful, cooperative approach to work requests.
  • Approx. 3-5 years’ experience working within repair and maintenance roles.
  • Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative to manage the upkeep of the College.
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and multitask.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety precautions, standards and practices.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Trade Qualification.
  • Bus Licence LR
