St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population nearing 1500 students in 2024. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the college is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis has finalised its new, modern 7th Stage of building development and offers state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.

A permanent full time position commencing 31 January 2024. The successful applicant will be required to teach Technology and Applied Studies and possibly VET courses.  The role of the Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.  

There is quite a lot of scope in this role - the successful applicant may be able to teach Design and Technology and/or other Technology-based courses - dependent on expertise and experience.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe, and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in TAS and/or VET.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community.

GENERAL CAPABILITIES

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Ability to teach  Industrial Technology Timber (Stage 6) and possibly VET Construction.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated TAS subjects and possibly VET courses/s.
  • Level B Accreditation by To Work, Teach, and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
  • The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN'S CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
