A permanent full time position commencing 2 December 2024 (start date negotiable - with a 3 month probation period). This role requires the individual to be flexible with start and finish times, willing to work together in a small team, be physically fit and will be required to occasionally do overtime to ensure the smooth operation of the College.
Reporting to the Principal and the Leadership Team. The School Support Officer - Maintenance/Outdoor will be responsible for general maintenance, repairs, garden work and events setup as required.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE(but not be limited to):
- General building and grounds maintenance (painting. patching, basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical (changing bulbs etc.).
- Maintaining the College gardens (weeding, watering, fertilising etc.), college playground areas, equipment (blower/vacuuming, pressure washing), and sports facilities.
- Assisting with the setup of college events and functions.
- Managing distribution of deliveries and unpacking of goods and resources.
- Other duties as directed by the Principal and/or Business Manager.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with students, parents / carers, and staff, and a helpful, cooperative approach to work requests.
- Previous experience working within repair and maintenance roles (preferably 3-5 years).
- Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative to manage the upkeep of the College.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and multitask.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety precautions, standards, and practices.
DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA
- Trade Qualification.
- Hold a Light Rigid driver's license and be willing to occasionally drive the 25-seater minibus for excursions, sports, or service requirements.
