About the role
In this role, you will work creating, managing and growing engaging social media content for Visit Geelong & The Bellarine and Bellarine Taste Trail. This includes staying ahead of digital trends, collaborating with tourism partners, maintaining content platforms, delivering outstanding stakeholder support, and contribute to marketing strategies that inspire visitation and showcase the best of the region.
Work type: Permanent Part Time 0.5 FTE
Classification: Band 5 at $83,436.03 pa plus super pro rata
Key responsibilities include:
- Administer the Visit Geelong and The Bellarine (VGB) and Bellarine Taste Trail (BTT) social media channels, including sourcing and creating content, scheduling, moderation and amplification in line with TGGB’s Marketing Action Plan and content marketing strategies.
- Keep up-to-date with social media trends, security requirements and platform updates to ensure VGB channels are operating at peak performance.
- Maintain the content management platform, Crowdriff, to ensure photography and videography is current and organised.
- Liaise with content creators, contractors and state and national tourism bodies, as required, in the development and support of marketing activities for social media platforms promoting Greater Geelong and The Bellarine.
- Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers, industry stakeholders and visitors
- Assist in the development of TGGB Strategies and Action Plans relating to social media.
- Provide input and assistance into team projects relating to TGGB’s Marketing, Membership and Industry Development Strategies.
- Effectively manage activities and provide accurate information, data, and documentation to resolve queries or aid decision-making.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in tourism marketing, communications or digital marketing and/or some experience in the field in a comparable organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrated skills in using social media platforms for marketing objectives, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube.
- Sound technical skills in editing content for social media, utilising platform editing in-app, Edits, Canva and/or Adobe suite of programs.
- Ability to identify emerging social media trends and to use these insights to develop and implement new ideas for VGB and BTT channels.
- Well-developed creative writing skills and storytelling ability linked to experiences.
- General computer literacy skills, including MS software, database management, and social and content management systems.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check (funded by the City), current Working With Children Check and current drivers licence as part of the recruitment process.
