About the role
In this role you will oversee and coordinate the day to day operations of the Learn to Swim program at Norlane ARC and Lara Aquatic Centre. This will include the coordination, planning, implementation and evaluation of the program, along with supervising a team of Learn to Swim Teachers and Learn to Swim Officers. The role will work across a combination of mornings, afternoons and weekends throughout the week.

Classification: Band 5 Commencing at $81,005 pa plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, supervise and develop Learn to Swim teachers and officers, fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture and supporting recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning.
- Coordinate program delivery across term, school and holiday periods, including staff rostering, resource allocation and pool space management to ensure safe supervision ratios and efficient operations.
- Monitor enrolments, program capacity, participation trends and budget performance, maintaining accurate records and contributing to financial and strategic planning.
- Provide regular coaching, performance feedback and professional development opportunities, addressing staff performance and managing conflict in line with Council policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with organisational processes, industry standards and OHS requirements, promoting a strong safety-first culture and service excellence.
- Apply specialist aquatic industry knowledge to support high-quality Learn to Swim program outcomes, continuous improvement and a positive customer experience.

Essential Experience:
- Knowledge of Learn to Swim program, swimming and lifesaving techniques and industry awards.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role including the management of staff and team building activities.
- Relevant qualification in Learn to Swim, Aquatics or a related specialist field, and/or significant experience in a comparable organisation.
- Current Working with Children Check
- Provide First Aid and CPR Certificates
- AUSTSWIM (TSW) / Swim Australia Teacher License and applicable qualification(s).
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
