As a Leisure Services Officer – Customer Service / Reception, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing timely, professional service while managing reception and administrative functions. You will promote and sell centre programs, memberships and events, process bookings and payments, maintain retail displays, and ensure facilities are used in line with confirmed bookings and centre policies.

About the role
In this role, you will perform timely and quality completion of customer service / reception and administrative functions.

Work type: Casual
Classification: Band 2 $43.05 p/h (including casual loading)

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct customised tours of the facility, identifying customer needs and actively promoting and selling appropriate memberships.
  • Assist in promotion, event ticketing and sales of Recreation venue competitions, programs, services, events, and activities.
  • Merchandise and retail area stock and displays.
  • Periodic checks of facilities to ensure only confirmed bookings and paying casual hire customers are using them.

About you
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage with a diverse community both in person and over the phone. You will be organised and detail-oriented, comfortable using point of sale and administrative systems, capable of handling cash and enquiries efficiently, and committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-presented environment. Experience in similar customer service facing roles required.

Essential Experience:

  • Working with Children’s Check
  • CPR Certificate
  • Provide First Aid would be advantageous
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
