About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical assistance to the City’s Community Care Department in the areas of quality management, compliance, auditing and incident management.  You will be a key innovator in areas of continuous improvement within the City’s Community Care Department, in accordance with City of Greater Geelong policies and the guidelines of Government Aged and Disability programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide and maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in areas of clinical specialty and relevance, related to, management of the frail aged, people with dementia, people with disabilities and their carers.
  • Contribute to and actively participate in the Quality program in Community Care, including but not limited to assisting with incident and complaint management, continuous improvement, training and development of staff
  • Contribute to the effective and efficient management of Home Care Package budgets ensuring that services and supports are managed within the limits of the package whilst also meeting clients’ needs.
  • Ensure consistent, effective and efficient administrative systems are maintained. Ensure regular collection and reporting of statistical and other data.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a quality/compliance role within the residential or in home aged care setting. You will be passionate about change management process, a keen eye for detail and enjoy problem solving and thinking outside the box. You will have a person centred approach, a professional approach to you work and a continuous improvement mindset.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in planning, implementing, monitoring continuous improvement activities in a community aged care setting
  • Experience in a quality related role, or capacity to adapt skills and experience quickly
  • Awareness and support of the philosophies of healthy ageing, consumer directed care, promotion of independence and non-intrusive care and general disabilities, including a collaborative approach to decision making.
  • Research and evaluation skills including data collection and analysis.
  • Experience effectively supporting continuous improvement culture in a team, demonstrated ability to influence culture.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in nursing or allied health, preferably with current registration to peak body
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
