About the role
In this role, you will oversee every stage of the systems development life cycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in managing resources, schedules, budgets, and stakeholders will be key to achieving our ambitious goals.
Work type: 3 year fixed term contract
Classification: SPL, Commencing at $ $148,599 + plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the planning, delivery and closure of ICT projects within the ACE Program.
- Offer guidance and support to the project team, communicate the project vision and outcomes and support the team in achieving the project outcomes in a timely manner.
- Provide indirect leadership across cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and alignment with ACE program priorities.
- Steer the planning and delivery of wide range of information gathering and stakeholder consultation to specify, negotiate and agree on project deliverables
- Support the project governance and delivery of projects using the standard tools and templates and ensure intended outcomes are identified and achieved.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints, developing mitigation strategies and escalating critical matters to the Program Manager and Sponsor as required.
- Prepare project review reports, dashboards, and presentations to support governance reviews, performance tracking, and benefits realization.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance project management processes, identifying opportunities for improvement to strengthen delivery efficiency and team performance.
- Effectively manage project resources, including forecasting, allocation, and oversight of budgets and costs to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Management. In addition, you will have a relevant professional project management certification (Prince2 or equivalent).
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in project delivery, with a strong record of successfully managing and delivering complex business and ICT projects.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise systems, including hands-on experience implementing or working with modern ERP platforms (e.g., CRM, Asset Management) or similar large-scale business systems.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly and confidently present complex information to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong adaptability and resilience, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and manage complex or evolving situations effectively.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities within ICT environments, particularly when working with challenging or high-stakes stakeholder groups.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive partnerships and influence at all organisational levels to achieve successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and engaged project team environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, or hybrid models, coupled with a solid understanding of change management principles and practices.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Children’s Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
