About the role
As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of a high-impact program working closely with stakeholders to uncover business needs, spot improvement opportunities, and help design smart, scalable solutions. Your sharp analysis, strategic thinking, and process design expertise will be key to driving outcomes and ensuring the program delivers real, measurable value.
Work type: 2 year, fixed-term contract
Classification: Band 8 Commencing at $122,040 + super
Key responsibilities include:
- Champion best-practice business analysis across all projects within a complex program of integrated systems and processes.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyse business requirements, capturing both functional and non-functional needs accurately and efficiently.
- Translate user needs into clear, concise, and actionable user stories in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Map current processes and value streams to uncover inefficiencies and recommend improvements, offering expert advice on process redesign opportunities.
- Analyse system, integration, and data requirements, capturing key business processes, system specs, and data needs to inform solution design.
- Support service transition activities, including release planning, deployment, and go-live readiness.
- Partner with Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle, contributing to risk identification, issue resolution, and successful delivery.
- Mentor and guide team members in building professional competence and collective knowledge.
- Participate in program activities, such as planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Monitor, report, and utilise accurate data to track work progress and improvements against the project and program plans and budgets.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in IT, Business or similar fields with significant experience within a similar organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrated progressional experience in Business Analysis.
- Demonstrated experience across projects and programs in a comparable organisation.
- Working knowledge of Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), Agile delivery, and Prince2 project management methodology.
- Experience working across high profile projects or programs with multiple enterprise wide integrated and inter-related systems.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks.
- Proven proficiency in business process design, re-engineering, and implementation.
- Strong understanding of modern change management methodologies.
- Advanced conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with experience managing complex and challenging stakeholders.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children's Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
