About the role
As a Project Engineer, you will oversee the full lifecycle of civil construction projects, from concept to completion. You will work across diverse sites and stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with lasting community impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coach field-based crews with a focus on empowerment, safety, and performance.
  • Manage civil construction projects end-to-end, balancing technical excellence with practical delivery.
  • Prepare and review tender documentation, specifications, budgets, and drawings.
  • Translate complex engineering and political issues into clear advice for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor outputs with a commercial lens, ensuring value-for-money and risk mitigation.
  • Effective reporting and continuous improvement across all project phase.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications or significant experience in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in civil construction delivery and engineering practices.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and foster a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and navigate complexity.
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially in translating technical detail into plain English.
  • A practical mindset with strong problem-solving capability in field environment.
  • Current Victorian Driver’s licence.
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
