About the role
In this pivotal role, you’ll provide expert technical leadership across a diverse suite of business and technology platforms. From shaping strategy to hands-on implementation, you'll be instrumental in bringing bold digital solutions to life, improving how the City connects with assets, data, and most importantly, its people.

Work type: 3 year fixed-term contract.
Classification: SPL $172,375 + super

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead technical discussions and guide the implementation of modern, modular system designs, ensuring effective data and integration architecture.
  • Provide expert guidance across systems, projects, and processes, including data and systems integration.
  • Ensure project designs align with existing system architecture, delivery, and operational processes.
  • Execute and manage the delivery of designs in line with industry best practice and methodologies, ensuring delivery to budget and schedule.
  • Manage the engagement of vendors and system integrators to ensure successful selection, adoption and delivery of high-quality designs which meet the needs of the City.
  • Ensure the establishment of partners and contracts provide systems and services which are fit for purpose and fit for use based on agreed business requirements and designs.
  • Ensure vendor deliverables align with approved designs and architecture standards.
  • Engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the program, ensuring architectural decisions are well understood and aligned to program outcomes
  • Coach and mentor colleagues and team members, uplifting the programs capabilities to meet the requirements of its future strategic goals.

About you

Essential Experience:

  • Significant experience in architecture, including leading design workshops, producing solution designs, and involvement in the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions across applications, integration and infrastructure in both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Strong understanding and experience in the design and implementation of modern cloud based ERP (e.g. CRM, Asset) and integration platforms
  • Strong knowledge of data integration and migration strategies, including data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation across complex systems.
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), service-oriented architecture (SOA), APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics
  • Familiarity with information and data management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
  • Project, program, and solution delivery experience, with proven track record of delivery using best practice and structured methodologies and frameworks.
  • Extensive experience working with different types of agile and product-based principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those aligned to digital modernisation.

Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Children's check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
