Classification: Band 7 $103,066 - $114,319 pa plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Liaise with the Placemaking Division to support development of the cities coordinated strategic Stormwater management system.
- Review reports and provide technical advice to support the preparation of stormwater obligations as part of the process to create Future Urban Structure and Precinct Structure Plans in growth areas.
- Provide technical advice on stormwater matters including review of Stormwater Strategies and Management Plans in rezoning and infill development proposals.
- Support the Placemaking Division in discussions with developers, their representatives and infrastructure service authorities to ensure coordinated planning of stormwater infrastructure and adherence to the City’s stormwater guidelines and standards for developing areas and areas of environmental significance.
- Support the investigation of drainage options and drainage scheme requirements including high level costings.
- Assist in developing and implementing policy, strategy and plans which relate to the service planning of stormwater management for the City.
- Develop guidelines and standards for Integrated Water Management, Stormwater Quality, Floodplain Management and template Planning Permit conditions.
- Provide technical advice on the implementation of the City’s guidelines and standards to internal stakeholders and working groups.
- Provision of advice to Council’s Property Advisor relating to the potential sale or change of use of Council land and disused road reserves where existing and potential future Stormwater conveyance may exist.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar discipline and significant experience in municipal engineering, particularly related to stormwater management and land development. You will also have:
- Eligibility for engineering registration in line with the Victorian registration scheme.
- High-level leadership skills with experience in providing mentorship to graduate and associate engineers.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to translate technical information into plain English.
- Strong conceptual skills with experience in conducting research, analysing data and synthesising results into tangible plans, guidelines, policies, strategies and other outcomes.
- Ability to apply theoretical engineering principles in examining engineering documentation for subdivisional plans.
- Significant demonstrated experience in investigation, analysis and selection of flood mitigation and drainage treatment options, assessment and analysis.
