About the role
In this role, you will focus on providing high quality, technical urban design advice to deliver  high-quality design outcomes across the municipality. Temporary part time (6 months).

Work type: Temporary part-time (6 months) (2 days per week)
Classification: Band 8 $115,035 - $127,711 pa plus super pro rata

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide design advice and guidance for a range of place-based projects, encompassing residential, mixed use, commercial and industrial master planning.
  • Provide visually compelling communication to enable diverse audiences to imagine and realise the future opportunities for a place, neighbourhood, or a precinct.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

About you
You will hold a tertiary qualification in urban design, architecture, urbanism or a related specialised field. Additionally, you will have extensive experience in offering expert advice and guidance on a range of urban design projects, which result in improved high quality design outcomes.

Essential Experience:

  • Extensive  professional experience as an Urban Designer, with a focus on providing advice and critique on  the design of developments and major projects.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to articulate issues and influence outcomes at a senior level.
  • Excellent knowledge of  the Victorian planning scheme.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with a range of stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
