About the role
In this role, you will ensure the unit’s success by managing accurate and timely billing, receipting, and revenue collection. You’ll provide professional leadership and guidance to team members while overseeing the creation and issuance of accounts through the City’s billing systems.
Work type: Permanent full time. Start date negotiable for January 2025.
Classification: Band 6 ($90,263-$97,365 pa) plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the timely and accurate processing of incoming revenue from all sources and the processing of transfers and adjustments.
- Ensure all City debt is processed through the corporate system and followed up as required.
- Assist with the development, maintenance and updating of the City’s cash management policies/procedures and other procedures.
- Prepare correspondence in response to enquiries as required.
- Provide clear and effective communication to all customer enquiries, both internal and external.
- Complete administration functions in an accurate and timely manner to support the Coordinator Revenue, Property & Valuations.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have five years’ experience in a similar role and superior customer relationship skills to build cooperative working relationships.
Essential Experience:
- Proficiency of property and rating principles and practices which relate to the Local Government Act and other relevant Acts and Regulations.
- Experience in customer contact/public relations and the capacity to manage difficult customers.
- Proficiency in the use of system networks, computerised databases, particularly about property and customer systems, together with associated reporting and Microsoft software.
- Application specialist with billing, receipting and collection and general ledger systems.
- To be able to manage a debt recovery program using the statutory processes and to develop other methods of improving the amount collected annually.
- Effective team member skills to support and contribute to an environment of high-functioning, productive and engaged teams.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
