About the role
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving the creative heartbeat of the City of Greater Geelong. From providing essential administrative and project support to promoting vibrant cultural initiatives, you will serve as a connector, offering valuable guidance to individuals, community groups, and organizations looking to make their mark in the arts scene.
This position will support arts and cultural events in a casual capacity, with peak event periods being November and April-May. You will be immediately available to commence in the support of Geelong Design Week, working full time hours for 3 weeks upon commencement, with further part-time hours required in April-May 2025.
Work type: Band 5 Casual
Classification: Band 5 $48.30 per hour + super
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide general support for the Arts & Cultural Development team.
- Provide support in processing community submissions for programs.
- Provide day-to-day timely and accurate customer service for external enquiries.
- Assist with the implementation and support the delivery of Arts & Cultural Development team’s projects and programs.
- Assist in promoting the Arts & Cultural Development team’s projects and programs, including social media and web publishing.
- Actively contribute to the development of community focused arts and cultural opportunities and maintain positive working relations with staff, members of the public and key stakeholders.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in arts administration, supporting community-based arts and cultural projects and promotion, as well as:
- Knowledge of the arts and experience in working with artists and cultural community groups and organisations
- Current Victorian Driver's License.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
