About the role
In this role you will oversee Councils’ Open Space areas throughout the municipality, liaising with a broad range of stakeholders including  community members, community groups, advisory committees and service providers, around the use and maintenance of community infrastructure assets in parks and reserves, community gardens, walking paths, shared trails, open space and the Bellarine Rail Trail.

Work type: Permanent Part Time (0.8FTE – 4 days per week)
Classification: Band 5 $76,355 - $86,617 pa plus super

Key responsibilities include:

  • Web content management for open space assets.
  • Management of community tenancy agreements on City of Greater Geelong owned or managed land.
  • Reserve and open space service management and asset management.
  • Assistance with the preparation of draft reports and correspondence as required.
  • Maintenance and provision of accessible information on recreation opportunities for residents of the City of Greater Geelong.

About you
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with the community and be comfortable liaising with a diverse range of people. You will be highly organised and passionate, with the ability to think on your feet and find practical solutions to problems. Knowledge of open space and project management is advantageous.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrated customer service and stakeholder management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in community liaison and public relations
  • An ability to comprehend, analyse and research data.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet strict guidelines.
  • Ability to work without supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience assisting in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
