About the role
In this role you will provide an effective and efficient service to facilitate the assessment and issue of planning permit applications and approvals for all forms of proposed developments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Investigate and evaluate development applications, including within growth areas, within a team environment.
  • Analyse applications to determine compliance with relevant legislation and ensure applications are dealt with in the prescribed time limits.
  • Assist with the issue of Town Planning permits within the team to provide a coordinated responsive service delivery.
  • Assist with the coordination of input from various government departments and the general public to meet deadlines as set.
  • Prepare correspondence in relation to Council decisions and enquiries from the public.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in town planning, urban studies or similar related field.
  • Substantial experience in local government town planning.
  • A good understanding, practical knowledge, and ability to interpret town planning legislation and practices and associated legislation to interpret their meaning
  • Experience and willingness to mentor staff.
