About the role
In this role, you will supervise Lifeguard staff and ensure the efficient and effective operation of the pool. There is Team Leader opportunities at all our Outdoor Pools (Lara, Kardinia and NBAC) for the summer season.

Work type: Temporary Full Time – 5 months
Classification: Band 4 $69,560 - $74,316 pa plus super pro rata

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Aquatic Operations Coordinator with the daily operations of the Aquatics facilities including plant and pool maintenance, staff supervision, customer service, and safety of staff and patrons.
  • Provide leadership to a team of lifeguards to ensure the delivery of high quality customer service to patrons using the centre.
  • Perform the role of both Shift Supervisor and lifeguard on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that pool equipment and surrounds are maintained in appropriate condition at all times.
  • Ensure the water quality of the swimming pools is maintained in accordance with the Health Department Regulations.
  • Perform routine pool plant maintenance including backwashing and chemical dosing.
  • Assist in the development and management of Aquatic staff rosters to ensure that all operational needs are planned for.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in an aquatic environment and in customer service. This role also requires someone with demonstrated experience in a leadership role and the ability to build relationships with staff and client groups.

Essential Experience:

  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate
  • Pool Lifeguard Qualifications
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Good knowledge of pool plant operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation of innovative procedures.
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
