About the role
In this newly created, you will work alongside the current Infringement Administrator, where you will manage the infringement lifecycle and be regarded as the subject matter expert for infringement administration, providing advice and guidance to the Communituy Safety and Regulation team. You will generate detailed reporting to both internal and external stakeholders and create procedures and work instructions documenting the infringement management process.

Work type: Temporary Part Time (4 days per week) through to June 2025
Classification: Band 6 $90,263 - $97,365 (pro rata - plus super)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Application Specialist for Infringements software and systems, providing advice and training to other Council staff.
  • Management of phone calls and correspondence relating to infringements and appeal requests.
  • Conduct reconciliations of infringement uploads to the infringements database and collate key infringement data for internal reporting.
  • Complete reports required by Department of Justice, Fines Victoria and other external bodies and assist with statutory Infringement audits as required.
  • Register infringements selected for court action with Fines Victoria.
  • Assist Council’s Prosecutor by preparing and collating relevant information as requested.
  • Assist Council’s Internal Ombudsman by preparing and collating information relevant to an appeal against an infringement.

About you
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in a prosecutions or legal environment, with infringement experience highly regarded. You will be confident in liaising with a diverse range of people, be highly organised, good attention to detail, enjoying working in a collaborative team environment and have a process improvement mindset.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in an administration role with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to interpret, apply and clearly explain decisions to both the public and other Council staff.
  • The ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in handling issues of a sensitive nature.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop initiatives and implement a process of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to analyse, comprehend research and summarise relevant data and issues.
  • Understanding of a regulatory framework within a customer service environment
  • A tertiary qualification in Business/Administration or substantial experience in a similar role.
