This position is a grade 14 with a minimum of $54,389 and a mid-point of $72,518. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty by coordinating a centralized apprenticeship and experiential education program for the college. Work involves assisting in developing strong working relationships with area employers to promote apprenticeship, mentoring, and employment opportunities for students and recruiting eligible students to participate and coordinate with the appropriate departments to ensure their retention and successful completion of the program.

Work is distinguished by the ability to assist director and/or dean with more complex problems that may involve working through issues and managing expectations of the students. General supervision is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required in a field related to business, education, organizational development or related field.
  2. At least two years of experience working with adult students and/or unemployed clients at the post-secondary level.
  3. Considerable interpersonal skills to be applied to a variety of individuals with different education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
  4. Considerable oral and written communication skills.
  5. Good knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
  7. Two years’ experience delivering and evaluating training

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Master’s degree in business, education, organizational development or related field.
  2. Bilingual Spanish/English speaking ability.
  3. Experience with crisis intervention.
  4. Experience working with and sustaining grants in a community college.

Essential Duties:

  1. Collaborate with director to coordinate services for existing apprenticeship programming and assist in the implementation of new pathways. Conduct and track case management that include coordinating meetings and/or correspondence with individuals to enroll, register, review curriculum plans, assess barriers, obtain documentation for reporting requirements, and make recommendations for wrap around services to address any issues with their progress and documenting these monthly contacts with each participant in internal grant required systems. Assist director with fostering employer partner relationships as needed.
  2. Maintain student documentation and progress in required systems, as outlined  by the grantor, college, and the department, in a timely manner.
  3. Serve as the liaison between the college and the employer for dissemination of grades, attendance records, and certification or degree to help maintain positive relationships with employers. Assist the director in resolving situations that may occur with the apprentice academic journey. Coordinator will be responsible for the documentation of the issue in the case management system.   Provide input to director and/or dean for future planning of apprenticeship programming.
  1. Prepare and conduct internal and external presentations to recruit new apprentices.  Host information sessions, orientations, intake sessions and exit meetings to ensure proper running of the programming and compliance to our governing bodies.
  2. Determine eligibility and suitability of potential apprentices to ensure the program is the correct fit.  Once eligible work with areas such as registration, financial aid, disability services, book store and other workforce units to ensure students have all the proper resources and/or support
