Position Description

Job Overview

Under the lead of the Vice President for Student Affairs, and in coordination with the Chief Diversity Officer and Chief of Staff, the Peer Outreach and Support Coordinator will serve as a peer leader and connector between students and University leadership. This role is designed to elevate student voice, strengthen trust, and promote a culture of empathy, belonging, and shared responsibility across campus. This position will help to humanize campus systems and ensure students feel seen, heard, respected, and supported. The Coordinator will engage in outreach, advocacy, communication, and collaboration that center student experience and strengthen relationships between students and administrators. Specific collaborative work for this position will include designing and implementing educational activities for university leaders and assisting with understanding and recommending potential policy and practice improvements. This position will help promote a campus environment where dignity and respect go beyond compliance and become culture.

Position Summary

Peer Outreach and Support Coordinator (Student Services Professional II)

This is a full-time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,083 - $5,250 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,083 - $7,228 per month

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year; 14 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

This position is required to work in person on campus.
